The Last Dance

Image
Hey, just thought I would send out an email real quick! The mission has been so awesome lately, and we have been seeing so many miracles. We've been working a lot with Hermana Leslie, and she's progressing very well. We're hoping that she will get baptized at the end of this transfer. It's crazy because this is my last transfer, so it's a lot of mixed emotions. I love my mission and all that it has taught me. For my last transfer, I'll be staying in the same area with Elder Daley. I have learned so much this last transfer about the love of Christ and how much He really does love every one of us. 19 We love him because he first loved us. I love this scripture because it's so simple yet so deep. We love Him because He loved us first. He has always loved us and always will. It's up to us to show Him our love by our actions. I'm so excited for these last 5 weeks and to learn all I can before my time is up.

Manuel's Baptism

Well, it's been a couple of weeks so I thought I would send out a quick email to those who still read these, haha. These last couple of weeks have been super awesome. The work has picked up a little bit from the last few weeks, and we are starting to see the fruits of the work we have been putting in. Two weeks ago, our friend Manuel got baptized, and it was so awesome because he was the last member in his family to get baptized. His family had been waiting 5 years and working with him so he could get baptized, and the day finally came. About 5 weeks ago, on a Saturday, my comp and I were knocking doors on our way home and came across this door we felt we needed to knock. After knocking on the door, we met our friend Julio. The next day, Julio came with us to church, and 5 weeks later, he has accepted the invitation to get baptized. I'm super excited for him and the decision he's making to get baptized. It has been so spiritual to see the changes he has made to be baptized ...

Thank You

Dear President & Sister Foster,    I am Easton Carter's mom, I want to personally thank you.  My heart is incredibly full of gratitude for the both of you.  I do not know how to even put into words how grateful I am.  Easton has had the opportunity to learn, grow, serve and love both of you.  He was very hesitant about spending time in the office, but I can see how much he has loved it.  I know the time he had to get to know both of you so much better will be time that he will cherish forever.  Thank you for teaching these missionaries and sharing your example and love for the Gospel.     Thank you for taking care of Easton while he is out of my watch. Thank you for your time away from your own families.  I hope you can feel the prayers that are being said on your behalf!     With much appreciation,    Bobbi Carter Hi, Sister Carter,   We love your son, Elder Carter, and are so grateful to serv...

Asunción

Just thought I would send out a quick email because it's been a while. These last couple of weeks have gone by flying! Two weeks ago I said goodbye to all of the members from Castillo Lara, where I spent the last 6 months. I honestly was not very happy to be in Castillo Lara 6 months ago but can honestly say it became one of my favorite areas. Saying goodbye to the members and our friends was hard because they became like family. The last week of the transfer, we got the chance to drive out to Moyuta, where I spent 5 months of my mission, and do an exchange. It was so awesome to see how much the church has grown out there and to see the growth the recent converts made. It made me so happy to see all of my friends I made in my 5 months there. I have now been transferred out of the office to what will likely be my last area. I am now in an area called Asuncion. Missionary work in Asuncion has been a little rough here for the last year, and I'm hoping we can get things up and runn...

Ariana's Baptism

Image
What's up everyone! This week was awesome. This week, Ariana got baptized. We have been working with Ariana for the last couple of months. Ariana is the daughter of one of my best friends named Douglas. Douglas came back to the church around a year ago and is the only active member of his family. His two kids, Ariana and Allan, have never liked church or the thought of it. After working with Ariana a couple of months ago, she decided to start coming to church. This week, she made the decision to be baptized, and the best part is that Douglas got the opportunity to baptize and confirm her. It was such a spiritual experience seeing Douglas have the chance to baptize her after working so hard to be able to baptize her! Douglas and his family have been through lots of ups and downs in their lives, and seeing the joy and peace they had after the baptism was so special. This week, we also went to the president's house for one of the last times to discuss transfers. It was super weird...
