Another Week In The Life

Image
Hey y'all, I hope you're all well. Not much has happened this week, to be honest. The mission goes faster and faster every week, which is crazy. This week, we had 2 more baptismal dates fall either because they talked to a pastor of another church or because their parents think getting baptized is the worst thing to ever exist. But work goes on, and God does what is best. We slaughtered another pig this week, but I would be careful looking at the picture because it's pretty gross, haha. Elder Carter

One Year

Well, this certainly was a really busy week and a good week. The busier you are, the happier you are on the mission, and the faster the days pass. This week, I hit one year as a missionary, which is so crazy. It's awesome to be able to serve the Lord and see Him bless people every day. It's crazy how fast time goes, and I'm grateful for the next year I get to serve the Lord. This week, we had zone conference, and it's always the biggest refresher to hear from the President and his wife and just soak in everything they have to say. This week, we passed by a pig getting killed. The guy apparently kills one every Friday and sells it. Here, they keep the blood and sell it, which is pretty weird to be honest. I'll drop some pics of the pig. We also had a branch activity, and it was so fun and funny. We had a water balloon activity which ended in a huge water balloon fight, which was awesome. We also had a piñata, and they go insane with piñatas here. The piñata was flyin...

1 Year

One year ago today I started my mission! I can't believe it's been a year already! During this year I have learned a lot and my testimony of the savior has grown a lot. I have seen people change their lives to follow Jesus Christ. There is no better feeling than seeing people feel the love that Jesus Christ has for them. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he died for each one of us. I know that Jesus Christ loves us and knows us perfectly. I...

Miracles

Hey y'all, just a short little email this week for those of you still plugging along. This week was definitely unexpected, but a good week! This upcoming Sunday, we were supposed to have the baptism of Luis, as some of you may know. Well, this week we went to his house and started talking to his grandma, who is an inactive member, about his baptism. She began telling us how unprepared he is, which made him super shy and closed off. After that day, he has been completely different and nervous to talk to us, so his baptismal date has fallen. I was pretty bummed about this and down, as I was looking forward to his baptism. However, the next day, we set 3 baptismal dates that weren't expected at all! So now, we are still trying to work with Luis to get him baptized, but also working with these other 3 people to help them get baptized. It was truly a miracle to set all 3 of these people on a date in one day, as it was our first day visiting 2 of them. It just goes to show that God r...
