Transfer News

Image
What's up everyone! Kind of a shorter email this week because my last p day was wednesday so not a lot has happened. We got transfer news this week and I will be staying in my area but my comp will be leaving. I was hoping that he got to stay and I could be with him one more transfer but I know whatever happened is meant to be. I am super happy to be staying in the area though. I love it a lot here and love the people even more.     This transfer I will also be covering a place called Cassias which missionaries are no longer in. So this transfer will be really busy with lots of work. This week we got to go up to a new little puebla and do some missionary work there which was really fun. I feel like my Spanish is getting a lot better from where it was at the beginning of the transfer but I still have a ways to go. We are hoping to extend some baptism invitations this week so hopefully those go well.     That's all for this week. I love and miss you all and hope you ha...

Benedicto Baptism

What's up everyone this week was so fast and it was awesome. This week was Benedictos baptism. It was perfect and the spirit was strong. Such a happy day for everyone. I had to give a talk in my broken Spanish but I have gotten over caring if I mess up. I am so excited to keep finding people to teach and progress. We are having a hard time finding people but hopefully this week we can get some people ready to listen and progress.     This week we had a ward game night that us elders planned and had for the ward because the branch struggles with all getting along sometimes. We had a good turnout and it went well. I remain uno champ in the branch. Also, nobody will beat me in monopoly deal in 2 years just saying.     We had exchanges this week and I got to go to an area called Casillas. It's a little more country than my area and I was with a Latino all day who doesn't speak english. It was good to practice my Spanish. Overall exchanges went well but i learned how much...

4 Days Til Baptism

Image
This week by far felt the longest out of them all. Friday and Saturday went fast with good lessons and exchanges. We had a lesson with the kids in the park again and they were all sitting down waiting for us when we arrived. Unfortunately, trying to keep the attention of 10 little kids with broken Spanish doesn't work the best. Then Monday and Tuesday were a drag with lessons that fell through and no new people found.     This Sunday I will have my first baptism. Benedicto has been progressing well ever since I got here and he finally gets baptized on Sunday. He is so excited. He has been worried the last few days because he doesn't have a white shirt for church like most kids so me and my comp are surprising him with one on his baptism.     I found a new friend named Elijas at the park. He's 9 and is by far my favorite. He studies during the week and goes around polishing and shining shoes on Saturday and Sundays because his family doesn't make tons of money. He's ...

Tropical Storm

What's up everyone? This week absolutely flew by. It was crazy. We had zone conference this week and it was awesome to see all the missionaries in my zone and talk to them for a while. Plus the free food is awesome. As you guys know I make grilled cheeses or quesadillas for lunch and dinner every day and I love it. Well I have gotten bananas now and added them to the list of food i'll eat. I figured it was time I ate some fruit. I also added these yogurt things, basically a danimals but I could argue better.      Other than that not much has happened but investigator Benedicto is on date to get baptized on the 23rd. Im so excited and can't wait. This week instead of playing basketball and teaching a lesson after we decided to take away basketball and see if the kids would come for only a lesson. We had an awesome turnout. I'll have a picture below. We also got the chance to go to an inactive members basketball game. His name is Freiben but you don't pronounce the n....

Too Much Sauce

What's up everyone, week 2 in Guatemala is already up. Not a ton of things happened this week. On Thursday we had exchanges and I went to a place called capillas. It is super pretty and in the mountains I'll drop a picture below.           General conference was awesome. I got the opportunity to watch all 5 sessions this weekend. My favorite talk might have been Dale G Renlund's, about personal revelation. I recommend you all go and listen to the talk. I love how we can all receive personal revelation to help us in our lives.          I got my first haircut here and it's way different than back in utah. They massage you after the haircut and it comes with the haircut. I wasn't expecting it but it's a plus i guess haha.          Me and my comp get along really well and both have tons in common. This week we got a kid to watch 2 full sessions of conference that we have been trying...
