Worlds Biggest Latino
Hey everyone, it's been about a month so I figured it's about time to give a little update.
The last couple of weeks have been crazy as we have been preparing to receive Elder Cook, who comes this Friday! We will have a meeting with three other missions, so it'll be pretty cool to see everyone and catch up with some friends I have in other missions.
A couple of weeks ago, our friend Ramiro got baptized. It was a super special experience, and he was so excited. Everything went super smoothly, and the spirit was strong. Now we are working with his sister and hoping to help her get baptized in the next month.
Yesterday was quite the day! While we were looking for a house, the biggest Latino I've ever seen in my life approached us. He was probably a good 6'5", 260 pounds. At first, I was impressed, then realized that he wanted money from us, haha. Well, he followed us for around 2 minutes asking for money, then finally got in the face of my comp. After 2 more minutes and attempting to throw a rock at us, he left us alone. About thirty seconds later, I turned around to see him running full speed after us with a beer in his hand. To be honest, he was moving pretty quickly. We ran, and after chasing us for a couple of streets, he gave up. It was quite a funny experience.
A couple of weeks ago, we went to the sealing of our downstairs neighbor. It was so special and so cool to see!
We've been doing tons of service lately and have officially almost dug out an entire basement of a house. Around 10 feet deep and 20 feet wide. I didn't realize how long it would actually take until I really realized all we had were buckets and shovels.
That's about all for the last couple of weeks. I'm loving the mission and so happy to be out here in the Lord's work. Would love to hear from all of you.
